Although as an engineer I have a natural tendency to despise architects, these pictures are in honour (yes, with an extra "u") of Jorn Utzon, Danish architect of the Sydney Opera House who died last week at the age of 90. Utzon resigned before the Opera House was completed due to heavy critisicm by the government (the construction started without plans!!!) and he never saw the finished product. poor guy. Last week in Sydney, I took the Opera House Tour. The inside of the building was as spectacular as the outside.

wife, you are an amazing photographer. that was my very first stop when we arrived in sydney. it is unfortunate that i had a raging case of jet lag and slept through most of the symphony. i hardly remember how brilliant the building was. also i think i was too young to appreciate such amazing architecture. thanks for reminding me..
